3 Inches of Blood "Silent Killer" Video

I haven't busted out Here Waits Thy Doom for awhile now, ever since reviewing it back at my old writing gig (a favorable review I might add), but "Silent Killer" is a strong example of the old school metal sound found on the album. Not my favorite track, but still enjoyable.

The video is about what you would expect from a band like 3 Inches of Blood. Check it out below!

3 Inches of Blood Improves Its Live Show

Just browsing the music news and it is all still pretty slow. However, I did find this cool live performance from 3 Inches of Blood on Fuse. Check out the videos below.

Every time I see this band live, it seems like the mix is all muddied up, but these are the best vids of the band in action I have ever seen!

3 Inches of Blood: "Here Waits Thy Doom" Album Review

A bloody nod to the old school

3 Inches of Blood: Here Waits Thy Doom
**** out of *****

Heavy metal has always had its stereotypes — ranging from the devil-worshipping, partying reputation to the loner kids that hang out in their parents’ basements listening to music and playing roles.

I would imagine that 3 Inches of Blood frontman Cam Pipes fit into the latter stereotype, staying up until 5 a.m. decked out in full-on battle gear playing Dungeons & Dragons while listening to old Mercyful Fate records.

Despite what his high-school adviser might have said, sometimes hanging out for endless hours in a basement can pay off. The band’s fourth studio album, Here Waits Thy Doom, is a solid offering that at its best sounds like the battle cry for a group of ravage warriors — or at least all those confused adolescents out there.

3 Inches of Blood: "Here Waits Thy Doom" Cover Art)

Has a Black Sabbath feel I think. Or black metal. Not what I was expecting, but cool nonetheless. The new 3 Inches of Blood album "Here Waits Thy Doom" comes out on September 8. It will be interesting to see where 3 Inches of Blood goes next.

Slayer and 3 Inches of Blood Album Info

Today both Slayer and 3 Inches of Blood announced the titles of their forthcoming albums.

Slayer's new CD is entitled "World Painted Blood" and should be out sometime late summer. The album is being produced by Greg Fidelman, who received some criticism after working on Metallica's "Death Magnetic". Kerry King said that the record's songwriting was split about 50/50 between him and fellow axe-slinger Jeff Hanneman, which sounds good to me. Hanneman is an underrated guitar player and talented songwriter.

"Psychopathy Red" has been out for awhile now, but you can get in another listen below for a taste of the new CD.

I also found this video on YouTube labeled as Slayer performing a new single on the Henry Rollins Show which made me laugh. The headbanging in the beginning to the music is pretty awesome.

As for the new 3 Inches of Blood album, that one is going to be called "Here Waits Thy Doom" and it should be out on September 8. This will be an important CD for the band's career, so hopefully they can put together some good catchy metal music.

"Advance and Vanquish" is still the band's best in my book, but "Fire Up the Blades" had some good tunes as well (see below).
