New Music: GWAR, Forbidden Evil and Halford
So far, I really enjoyed the GWAR track "Zombies, March" the most of these three bands. It has a classic GWAR-feel, while nailing down a raw production sound, which actually adds to the heaviness of the tune. And it seems fitting for Halloween.
Forbidden Evil isn't bad, but the song is missing a truly distinct riff, whereas Halford's song is pretty straightforward as well, and also failed to hook me into it. Of course, you can't judge an album by one track (as seen with Dimmu Borgir's new album coming out on October 12, which achieves the full-on symphonic sound the band has been trying to reach for awhile now).
Links are below! Enjoy!

Forbidden Evil - "Forsaken at the Gates"
Halford - "Undisputed"

Extreme Concert Info: Lamb of God, GWAR, Dethklok and Mastodon are coming to Des Moines!
Not all together mind you, but they will be here in pairs in October.
First off, Lamb of God, GWAR, and Job For a Cowboy will play at the Val Air Ballroom on Friday, October 9! I am most excited about GWAR because they have been known to put on amazing live shows. Check out a preview of the madness below.
Don't forget about AC/DC hitting the Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday, October 10.
As if that wasn't good enough, Dethklok and Mastodon will be at Val Air on Wednesday, October 14.
Looks like Iowa is starting to get some good music after all! Lets up this starts a trend.

GWAR is Back
Check out the new GWAR tune "Let Us Slay" on the band's MySpace. Has an old-school GWAR vibe and kind of reminds me of something off "America Must Be Destroyed", which is a great album by the way.
MetalBlade took away the song samples on YouTube (I don't blame em', just doing their job), so I replaced the preview with a rad GWAR song called "Immortal Corrupter" off of "Violence Has Arrived".

GWAR to Release "Lust in Space" in August
Underground theatrical metal legends GWAR recently resigned to Metal Blade Records for the new album "Lust in Space" which should be out sometime in August.
GWAR took the whole theatrical metal bit to a new level when they first entered the music scene in the mid 80's. Wearing enormous costumes and taking stage names such as Oderus Urungus and Beefcake the Mighty they soon grew a loyal fanbase.
25 years later the band is ready to unleash "Lust in Space" on all of the slaves (fans) in the world.
