Cannibal Corpse announces Des Moines stop with support from Dying Fetus

Is Des Moines the new mecca for Midwest metal shows?

OK, maybe I shouldn't go that far, but it seems someone who books for People's Court has got an eye for metal acts, since both Meshuggah and Fear Factory have performed shows there recently (and don't forget about the upcoming Black Label Society and Children of Bodom gig at 7 Flags Event Center in October).

I've also been able to partake in a variety of cool metal shows here over the years, such as In Flames, Shadows Fall, Exodus, etc.

And now, it was announced that Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Vital Remains and Devourment will all be stopping by for some death metal fun at People's Court on November 12!

How many female's do you think will be at this show? (just a joke, I know there are plenty of death metal fans that are women!). But seriously, should be an interesting night.

After the jump is a complete list of stops for those "out-of-state" readers, with the Des Moines' show in bold, in addition to some music from the bands.

AC/DC Still Got It!

I'll keep this brief, but the AC/DC show on April 17 in Des Moines, Iowa, rocked! I wasn't all that excited going into the arena and the opening band The Last Vegas didn't do much to pump me up, but then AC/DC came out with "Rock 'n' Roll Train" and never let up the rest of the night.

Brian Johnson still has that swagger to him and Angus Young ran around the stage, signature Gibson SG in hand, like a 12-year-old boy hopped up on caffeine. The fact that he can still go crazy on stage for a nearly two-hour set is just insane.

Anyways you can check out the new video for "Highway to Hell" promoting Iron Man 2 below. And that live track doesn't even do the real show justice.

Rob Zombie Brings Hellbilly Deluxe 2 Tour to Des Moines!

Looks like Rob Zombie is coming to the Val-Air Ballroom in Des Moines, IA, on November 21. This tour is called Hellbilly Deluxe II, maybe that means Zombie is going back to his industrial metal ways?

Either way, he always puts on a good show, even if he seems to get out of breath easily while singing his songs. I'm looking forward to it.

UPDATE: Megadeth and Warbringer to come to Davenport in December (see concert dates to right). Wha??? We'll see. (NOW CONFIRMED)

UPDATE 2: Rob Zombie will be calling his new album Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool. It will be out on November 10.

Extreme Concert Info: Lamb of God, GWAR, Dethklok and Mastodon are coming to Des Moines!

Not all together mind you, but they will be here in pairs in October.

First off, Lamb of God, GWAR, and Job For a Cowboy will play at the Val Air Ballroom on Friday, October 9! I am most excited about GWAR because they have been known to put on amazing live shows. Check out a preview of the madness below.

Don't forget about AC/DC hitting the Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday, October 10.

As if that wasn't good enough, Dethklok and Mastodon will be at Val Air on Wednesday, October 14.

Looks like Iowa is starting to get some good music after all! Lets up this starts a trend.

CONCERT REMINDER

The best metal show to hit Des Moines, Iowa, in a long time will be tonight (Thursday, February 12).

Meshuggah, Cynic and The Faceless will all be playing under the same roof at People's Court. Tickets are 20 bones and if you are anywhere near the area you have no reason not to go! I am driving there from Iowa City tomorrow.

People's Court is a fairly small venue, so having the chance to get up and personal with a band that plays huge shows overseas is an amazing opportunity. I do my best to be up front when they play Future Breed Machine.

Stay tuned for a concert review, maybe I'll even post it on the review blog that is supposedly coming soon (see link to the right)...
