Rammstein: Anti-American Nazi-Lovers or just German Music Innovators?

Rammstein is preparing to release a new CD sometime this year in the good ol' USA. I admittedly only began liking the band long after the "Du Hast" days of old. At first I thought they were just being trendy, but the band definitely has a cool sound.

Apparently the first single off the latest album is called "Pussy" (with both English and German lyrics) and will be coming out as a digipack with another tune "Rammlied".

In the latest issue of Decibel, guitarist Richard Kruspe described the album as being a return back to Rammstein's heavier sound. Let's hope he's right.

Update: New album cover revealed below. Oh and the title of the CD is Liebe Ist Für Alle Da. Official release date is October 20.

Municipal Waste Release "Wrong Answer" Video

Massive Aggressive is a great album, which I recently awarded a four star review (out of five). Today the band released the video for the first single "Wrong Answer". It's an awesome crossover-thrash-metal tune that will keep you headbanging.

Funny horror style gore videos are always good in my book, even if this is cheesy (and low budget). It is a bit distracting from the song, but music videos are meant to be videos right?

UPDATE: Here is a live video of the song "Acid Sentence" also off Massive Aggressive.

Get Well Brother!

If you haven't heard, Ozzy Osbourne and Black Label Society guitarist Zakk Wylde was admitted to the hospital a few days back for blood clots. Apparently the shit got into his lungs and singing could cause an embolism, which is NOT good.

People die from this stuff all the time. So here's wishing Wylde a safe recovery from The Metal Show.

I think some old school BLS is in order. 13 Years of Grief and Stronger Than Death sound good to me! Nothing beats old school BLS.

Municipal Waste "Massive Aggressive" Review

Not just another thrash band

Municipal Waste: Massive Aggressive
**** out of *****

If one thing’s for sure, it’s that crossover act Municipal Waste knows how to throw a party. The righteous dudes in the band even wrote a concept album about slamming brews and skipping class with 2007’s The Art of Partying.

However, just like a college student about to enter her or his senior year, there comes a point of maturation. That is the case with the Waste’s newest album Massive Aggressive, which sees the band writing on topics outside of the realm of drunkenness and becoming all the better for it — the album is thrash-metal perfection.

Candlemass 25th Anniversary: Epicus Doomicus Metallicus

Candlemass is celebrating 25 years of sludge-riffs and soaring vocals. Original vocalist Johan Längquist will join the band to play Epicus Doomicus Metallicus in its entirety.

Cool of Robert Lowe (current vocalist) to let them do this (hope all is well with him, because he is a great singer).

I still think this album has one of the most metal titles of all time. This is what DOOM metal should sound like!

Forbidden Gets Evil: "Adapt or Die"

Forbidden is an underground thrash metal band, that rocked the scene towards the end of the cycle around 1988 with the amazing release Forbidden Evil.

Now Forbidden is back with the new song "Adapt or Die" on the group's MySpace page.

The band does little adapting on the track and actually provides some ripping thrash that sounds like it could have been on one of the earlier albums. Check it out now and below I put a clip of one of my favorite Forbidden songs from the first album.

UPDATE: New Forbidden songs "Adapt or Die" and "Hopenosis" below.

New Scar Symmetry Sounds Badass!

Scar Symmetry is a Swedish death metal band that has been around for about five years now. Their older stuff was good, but I never fully got into them. I heard this new song "The Consciousness Eaters" today and it rocks.

The band recently lost vocalist Christian Alvestam who was replaced by Lars Palmqvist (clean vocals) and Roberth Karlsson (growls). The death metal barks have a little more bite and the clean stuff is more power metal driven, but in a good way.

I'm not trying to bash the original singer, just saying with these guys, the dual vocal attack works well.

Dark Matter Dimensions comes out on October 10 in the US.
