Devin Townsend Returns to the Stage

I've been a little busier as of late, so not as much time to update the ol' blog, but here are some cool videos of Devin Townsend's first tour in nearly three years.

Addicted is a really solid album from 2009 and of course Strapping Young Lad is always awesome.

Devin Townsend Project Music Video: "Bend it Like Bender"

I haven't had a chance to check out Addicted yet, but from what I have heard it's fairly catchy rock. Here is a video (which I haven't been able to watch yet from where I am typing this), but I have heard mixed things about.

I think it's anime or something, but see for yourself. I'm waiting for the next album which is supposed to be the heaviest thing Townsend has done.

Devin Townsend: Underground Guitar Legend sets release date for "Addicted"

Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, Devin Townsend Project, Steve Vai) released Ki earlier this year. It is a mellow album and admittedly I haven't given the time it deserved.

However, I do think it is a great CD that blends sounds ranging from pop-rock Muse-like sounds to the more technical. Each song starts slow and gradually builds up to an epic mix of guitars and vocals.

Now Townsend is preparing to release the second in a four-part series of albums. "Addicted" comes out November 17 and sounds like things are only getting better.

For those who crave Dev's heavier material, make sure to check out part three (Deconstruction), because I hear it is devastatingly HEAVY!

Devin Townsend "Coast" Video Released

Devin Townsend is an awesome guitar player and has a great voice as well, whether he is trying to be angry or mellow. "Coast" is definitely a mellow song and "Ki" is an all-around laid back album, which can be good for a change.

I think "Ki" is a little dull in parts, but this song and a few others are great additions to Townsend's catalog. I want to hear the album he claims as being the heaviest thing he's ever done, because it is hard to top Strapping Young Lad in terms of heaviness!

Speaking of alien cover-ups...
